My husband, who has not played the game, saw the ellipses at the bottom of the note and just assumed this was going to be a new series of drawings like the traffic cones or Dango-san. In order to humour him, I continued Chestnut's adventures, so this ended up being part 1/7 instead of the intended one-shot.
I recently played through Botanicula, and was enamoured by the art style, character designs, and humourous background touches that add depth and interest to the game world. One background element that particularly tickled me was the flying chestnut that buzzes around the chestnut village. He serves no gameplay purpose, but I thought he was cute and clever, and decided to dedicate a lunch note to him.

A classic visual pun with a tip-of-the-hat to Bill Engvall.
Jumping on the Guardians of the Galaxy bandwagon.
Inspired by the song "In the House of Stone and Light" by Martin Page. I really shouldn't poke fun at this song because it happens to be one of my all time favourites, but I knew my husband would get a kick out of this joke.
I had been playing a number of hidden object games (HOG's), and became increasingly annoyed at the problems unique to this genre: similar-looking items, misspelled / mislabeled / esoterically-labeled items, items completely hidden behind other objects, blurry piles of objects where you cannot delineate one thing from another, tiny items that can barely be seen, etc. The worst offender was the bonus content from Nightmares of the Deep , which went so far as to label knitting needles with yarn as "wires," a top hat as a "cylinder," and what was obviously a fishnet as a "landing" ...what? O.o
[As a side-note, if you like this style of game, I would recommend Abyss: The Wraiths of Eden, as it avoids almost all of the aforementioned problems, has an immersive horror atmosphere, follows an interesting plot line, and contains strong adventure-game elements.] Inspired by Poyopoyo Kansatsu Nikki . I decided to make a layered-paper rendition of Poyo as a square cat, as opposed to his usual roundness.
I couldn't help myself. Itzanother jab at Civ V, this time with Super Mario.
My husband and I started playing Civilization V recently, and we couldn't help laughing at the overly dramatic flavour text for the Chichen Itza wonder. I decided to draw a pizza-based parody to poke fun at the game.
