This doodle was inspired by Ernie's "Rubber Duckie" song from Sesame Street. Not only did I grow up watching the show, but I also played the dos version of "Ernie's Big Splash" obsessively. On top of that, a local car wash company used this song as a jingle for their radio ads, so it was pretty much always stuck in my head as a kid. 
I assumed everyone knew this tune, but my husband didn't get the reference.

Hey! Just because I can't remember any of the lyrics beyond "you make bathtime lots of fun" doesn't mean I don't know the tune! Besides, that looks an awful lot like a non-rubber duck without the telltale yellow coloring. And as someone who's color-blind, that is clearly the most important factor here. Leave a Reply. |
