Top left: I decorated our mini Christmas tree with heart ornaments, red yarn, and a paper heart topper that says "I Love You!" Displayed under it are the card I drew (which did not want to stay upright) and the little happy slime monster (they called it a raindrop) I bought for him from Shana Logic.
Top right: The back of the tree topper, with a ridiculous amount of exclamation points. We instituted a policy early on, both verbally and in print, that the more exclamation points we included, the stronger the sentiment; for instance we would say to each other "I love you with 9 exclamation points" if we wanted to be sappy.
Bottom: The lunch I made for him today with homemade onigiri and a Doraemon red bean pancake. We went to Mitsuwa Marketplace on the 14th to celebrate, where we found the serendipitously thematic pancakes, and picked up some hard-to-find edibles like the shiso leaves that I wrapped around his rice balls.
