...or Love Potion #9? This was my Valentine's card to my husband. (Yay, we're only 4 months behind current posts!) We had both been playing Morrowind for excessive amounts of hours, and I know how much he likes puns, so I couldn't help myself.

This is an older note that should have been posted around the time of our anniversary. I left it on his desk along with a custom-ordered bottle of Jones soda that used a picture from our wedding album.
My husband was controlling an NPC in my uncle's D&D campaign, set in a Russian folktale landscape. Every time the players started to coordinate a battle strategy, one of them would Leeroy Jenkins the plan. Simon was the main culprit that session.
At the time this was drawn, we had just spent an entire evening playing a slew of old Sega CD games, including "Dungeon Explorer." This note was supposed to be an obtuse reference to the name of the in-game tavern, Bar Jojo, but my "bar" looks too much like a pole, and I mistook Army Men for G.I. Joes, so the pun kind of (completely) fell apart.
So, this is a bonus note because it is slightly scandalous. *shock* ::gasp:: faint
It only makes sense when sung to the tune of this song by Sean Cullen. (I apologize for spelling "wheay" incorrectly in the note.) This was originally attached to a blue and white origami penguin, but my husband decided to keep the penguin as an office decoration instead of sending it home with the rest of the notes to be scanned, so now this is just a disembodied label.
New! Only 4.5 years late! Actual footage of the elusive penguin has been caught! There are literally 4 people in the entire world who understand this note because they were there on that fateful day when we had a dramatic test reading of our friend's new book.
Every so often I am going to post bonus notes in addition to the normally scheduled doodles. (Two notes posting in one day? What tomfoolery is this?) These are ones that I wasn't initially going to post because they were either total cop outs, or didn't make any sense at all, or only made sense to us. I have since decided to post them anyway, so you can see the full range of our silliness, but they will be occassional extras and not main posts.
This one was a total cop out. |
